We are looking for an exceptional Data Engineer who can work effectively with the MKS Data Engineering team that is the engine that powers an enterprise reliant on data, iterating quickly to solve big business problems. At their core, Data Engineers at MKS are strong technical individuals who enjoy working with large data sets and variety of data sources. They are comfortable working with both business users and other engineers to develop tools and datasets enabling applications integration, data ingestion methods from various data sources such as databases, file sources, machine logs etc. They are adept in learning and adopting new technologies and tools, apply knowledge and skills to provide great quality deliverables. There are significant opportunities for new team members to emerge as leaders, taking on additional projects and responsibilities with strong performance.

What You'll Do:

• Implement data solutions to enable MKS to solve the data management problems for various business needs.
• Build appropriate data architecture, data pipelines, reporting, data exploration, processes and quality controls to enable MKS to take advantage data for different business purposes
• Partner with business users and engineers to build the metrics and attributes required to address broad business needs.

Basic Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s in Computer science, Engineering, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, Economics, Management or other quantitative discipline field with strong academic record

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to execute on technical requirements to complex business requirements.
• Collaborative and eager to partner with business reporting and engineering to execute the optimal technical implementation.
• Excited about working with large data sets to design scalable, robust data solutions.
• A background in SQL and/or NoSQL data store design, including data modeling. Familiarity with RDBMS, Memory, Key/Value, Avro, Parquet, XML, JSON, CSV based data storage formats.
• Solid business acumen, critical thinking and technical abilities along with problem solving skills.
• Experience implementing data-driven solutions, such as reporting, algorithms, or data integration systems to align business goals Programming experience with at least one language such as Python, C++, Java, Scala highly desired Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Exposure to BigData / Analytics platforms such as AWS, Google or Azure.
• Exposure to statistical analysis using Python, R etc.

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly Pay Range: $18.00 to $28.00 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

Benefits: MKS offers a benefits package for interns/co-ops working at least 20 hours per week, including 11 paid holidays, sick time, and 15 paid vacation days accrued on a biweekly basis.
