    Required Skills

    Job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Proficient in the operation and troubleshooting of the Unwinder, Splicer, Festoon and all associated controls and equipment for rotary cutter.
    • Assist as needed in troubleshooting other cutters in the area.
    • Performs preventative maintenance of area equipment and maintains proper working condition.
    • Maintains company documentation that is accurate, complete and legible.
    • Ability to perform Changeovers in accordance with SOP's.
    • Assist with roller replacements and adjustments.
    • Must know the correct web path necessary to web the cutter.
    • Ensures accuracy in recording of operator documentation involving all aspects of the assigned machine. This includes production reports, specification verification, quality requirements, machine logbooks and checklists.
    • Understands and participates in the 5S system and takes full ownership of working environment.
    • Complies with all company and department safety, quality, productivity and security procedures.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or department manager.
    • Will assist in "breaking out" operators as needed.
    • Understands and monitors the quality of product being produced and maintains per requirements.
    • Frequent bending and stooping
    • Frequent lifting and carrying cores and lap waste up to 50 lbs.
    • Occasional squatting and kneeling for cleaning and clearing jams
    • Must wear safety shoes, safety glasses and ear protection.
    • Must be able to work in an environment that is dusty, noisy, hot and humid.      
    • Constant standing

     

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • Strong mathematical skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Highly motivated, self-starter
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds
    • Strong verbal and written communications skills.

    Required Experience

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

     

    • High school diploma or equivalent GED Preferred
    • Work experience in manufacturing environment
    • Must have Cutting Operator Step 4 signed off completely
