    Environmental Health and Safety Intern 2019 Location Simi Valley, CA Employment type Intern/Supplemental ID 340 We are currently seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Intern to join our team. Job Duties and Responsibilities · Helps develop, implement, and monitor company environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. · Interacts with all departments, conducts training, and serves as an EHS liaison. · Participates in all aspects of the EHS inspection and audit program. · Environmental health and safety (EHS) technicians are responsible for collecting, preparing for pick up, and monitoring hazardous waste at all sites. · Follow procedures to monitor health and safety at designated locations, such as ergonomics and lockout tagout. · Educate, monitor, and train personnel in safe work procedures. Required Qualifications & ground · Working on a Two-year degree in related field (environmental protection, health, industrial hygiene, safety, physical science, engineering, chemistry, biology, etc). · 0-1 years of experience in a related field with a minimum of one year working with hazardous materials and hazardous waste. · Ability to research and apply EHS compliance regulations to site operations. · Ability to work with limited supervision. · Ability to work with diverse groups and be comfortable speaking publicly. · Ability to write clearly and succinctly to communicate issues. · Maintain a specified level of competence in EHS regulatory compliance. · Able to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, twist, bend, and lift 50 pounds. · Able to multitask while being able to produce accurate and professional work. Other Qualifications and Responsibilities · Current certification in DOT, Cal OSHA 30hour, Hazard Waste Management a plus. ITAR Requirement: This position requires the use of information which is subject to compliance with International Traffic Arms Regulations (ITAR). To conform to U.S. Government export regulations/ITAR, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S. (or, green card holder), protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Applicants cannot be hired until they are qualified to have such access. Some positions due to contracts will require current U.S. Citizenship.
