    JOB SUMMARY

    The successful candidate will provide contract review and processing services for a high volume of low risk, low cost contracts for natural gas services to customers of Southern California Gas Company (SCG). The candidate will work independently to review new business contracts and construction designs for details to move contracts through the system efficiently. The candidate will maintain daily contact with SCG personnel (Lead Planning Associates, Field Planning Associates and Planning Associates) to make corrections and modifications to new business contracts and construction designs. The candidate will approve new business contracts within scope and execute consent for contract delivery.

    This position supports the SCG New Business & District Planning departments with on-going efforts to address/resolve New Business line extension projects that end up on New Business “Work Queues” in order to stay within Tariff Rules and SCG policies, improve customer satisfaction for internal customers (ex. Builders/Applicants), and help address New Business projects before the projects reach a status of jeopardy.

     

    JOB FUNCTIONS

    CONTRACTING (PRE ISSUANCE)

    • Flag and Tag Jobs:
    • Review jobs in SAP to determine which jobs are in scope (low cost, low risk).
    • Identify jobs to be flagged: Jobs that are past due or missing data. Missing info may include: plan load page, gas install page, utility consult, etc.
    • Flag jobs by noting RTP (Return to Planner) and the current date in a note in the job folder.
    • Identify jobs to be tagged: Jobs that are current and not missing data.
    • Tag jobs that are ready to be processed by noting the identifier’s initials and the current date. (Tagged jobs are ready to be processed, i.e. Reviewed & Executed.)

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum Education: Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Construction Management or other applicable field preferred.
    • Preferred: Experience with contracting, construction design and/or the utilities industry
    • Preferred: Working knowledge of SAP.
    • Exceptional attention to detail.
    • Experience managing very high volume and sometimes manual transactions.
    • Highly motivated, results focused and acts with a high sense of urgency.
    • Speaks clearly, listens and gets clarification when necessary, and responds informatively to questions.
    • Writes clearly, edits work, and able to read and interpret written information.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills reflecting an ability to be patient and outgoing with people.
    • Intermediate with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
