The Purpose of the Role: The candidate who fills this role is responsible for inventory management, including the acquisition of raw materials and packaging materials, as well as the scheduling required for the production of Wellness & Sports Nutrition Products in order to meet sales demands in regard to price, quality, availability, compliance, and budgetary requirements. The Supply Chain Analyst will fulfil these needs through the actions below: * Plans, organizes and directs materials, packaging and product purchasing for the Wellness & Sports Nutrition Division through the ERP business software system. * Ensures purchase orders are processed and executed in a timely manner, communicating any problems with the requisitioned. * Analyzes and evaluates cost, quality, suitability and past performance of purchases for the W&SN Division * Maintains the ERP purchasing module with up-to-date information regarding material, vendors, info-records, standard cost and pricing. * Maintains files and records of materials and suppliers * Keeps abreast of market trends, pricing, processes, and the impact purchasing has on our final product * Prepares various reports on purchasing activity within the department as well as external market conditions. * Manages Inventory & Production Planning for the Wellness & Sports Nutrition Division. * Maintains accurate accounting of inventory in SAP * Analyzes Sales Forecasts and projects inventory levels for the W&SN Division. * Places Orders for New Products in a timely manner to avoid stock-out issues, accounting for production lead times. * Measures and controls supplier quality. * Evaluates performance and prepares value analysis. * Sources new materials for internal compliance, including qualification testing. * Assist QC with supplier audits. * Works with QC and manufacturers, responding to quality issues, including process investigations and written complaints to suppliers. * Proactively identifies potential problems with materials used and seeks new/alternatives to save time, money and impact to product and customers. * Ensures cost controls are in place and adheres to established budget. * Researches new sources to reduce the overall spend within W&SN Division, including raw materials, packaging, and miscellaneous expensed items. * Support all budgetary requirements to achieve annual corporate budget goals. * Supports W&SN Division with forecasting process and all capitol project purchases. * Provides financial data and costing data for W&SN Division. * Partners with marketing manager providing product costing details to support the development of product pricing strategies. * Support the financial analysis of new products and changes to existing products. * Supports annual budget and forecasting process for W&SN Division. Education and Experience Required: * Applicants must have a 2 year degree (Associate's Degree) or above; ISM certification (C.P.M. or A.P.P.) preferred. * Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience.in the Pharmaceutical or Biotech manufacturing industry. * Strong computer skills and experience with enterprise software solutions, preferably SAP. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: * Familiarity with cGMP/FDA guidelines. * Knowledge of purchasing and procurement practices and techniques. * Project Management skills and experience * Inventory management/control * Logistics and Transportation * Must be familiar with accounting principles, inventory and production strategies. Physical Activities Required: * Must be able to sit for up to six (6) or more hours per day, and stand or walk for up to two (2) hours per day; * Eye/Hand coordination.
