Objective of the Position The individual in this position works in the maintenance department to support the functioning of the production departmentto include, but not limited to, the repair and maintenance work as well as the preventative maintenance and installation work. Additionally, the individual is also responsible in certain cases to provide support to maintain/repair the company assets which are installed on site. Essential Functions * Participate and contribute in Health & Safety, Security and Environmental activities (SAFE meetings, BBS observer, HS&E training, Near Miss & AIRI reporting, Housekeeping, 5S, Recycling, Waste Management, etc.) 10% * Perform repair and maintenance job on machines/equipment. This work includes operator calls, work order requests and PM assignments. 75% Additional Responsibilities * Work with the external contractor(s) to provide necessary help and assistance in order to complete their work on site and issue the required work permits. 5% * Work on work requests related to front offices, labs, security gates and other equipment(s) spread across the site. Also, additional work as may be assigned. 5% * Comply with companys safety standards and complete the assigned Clarity modules online. 3% * Record all the work done on a daily basis to support and maintain the work order systemMegamation. 2% Schedule: Position will work a rotating schedule. First Shift: 3 months; Second Shift: 3 months; Third Shift: 3 months * Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics preferred. Technician degree or equivalent working experience in similar job will also be considered. * 2 years experience performing electrical and mechanical repairs. * Must be able to perform electrical and mechanical repairs to processing machinery and associated equipment. * Knowledge of maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and systems. * Trouble shooting experience with instrumentation and control systems. * Ability to operate a variety of electrical and electronic test equipment * Carries out basic PLC and process control diagnostics. * Understanding of network infrastructures * Must be able to plan, prioritize and coordinate multiple activities. * Must be able to properly document maintenance information in a neat and legible manner when required. * Uses and promotes the use of a computerized maintenance management system. * Knowledge of computerized maintenance management principles as related to supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control. * Ability to work safely and at ease while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment including: respiratory protection, gloves, safety shoes, hearing protection, aprons, face shields and etc... * Knowledge and a good understanding of basic machine controls which include induction motor control using AC Drives, MCCs, hydraulic/pneumatics and valve controls. * Responsible for sustaining applications and debugging/fixing issues. This could be by answering calls and working with technicians, remotely connecting to systems and troubleshoot, or by working with personnel to fix the issue. * Perform basic troubleshooting of communication networks and wiring issues with PLCs and other NW components * Experience working with machine voltages up to 480 volts, encoders, servomotors, drives, cabling, sensors, switches, transducers, breakers, fuses, relays, contactors, etc. * Electronics experience and capable of repairing boards to the component level. Be able to navigate in the machine system to change programs, parameters, registers, etc if needed. * Must have knowledge in industrial electrical design, PLC programming, HMI software design, industrial networking * Proficiency with Allen Bradley products is a must; but Ge Fanuc and Siemens PLCs experience will be considered as well. * Proficiency with Rockwell and Siemens programming software, such as RSLogix 5000, FactoryTalk Studio, and various HMI softwares * Proficiency in reading technical documentation including Piping & Instrument Diagrams, loop drawings, wiring schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams * Production computers support (HW and SW Installation) * Zebra Printer Support Employee is expected to perform these company success factors: * Helps the customer * Achieves expected results on time * Understands the need to learn * Open to change and new ideas * Fulfils responsibilities in expected style Physical Requirements Working conditions will consist of a paint factory environment that has the potential of exposure to hazardous chemicals, fumes or airborne particles, heat and noise (ranges 75db to 85db). The job entails intimate interaction with high speed, moving, heated and cooled equipment. Several pinch-points exist. There is a high volume of start and stop forklift traffic. It is an indoor job in a semi-air-conditioned building, largely protected from outside weather conditions. Physical requirements are standing for periods of time, sitting, working on a computer, walking, writing, kneeling, crouching and climbing stairs. The employee must have good hearing and good vision, including peripheral vision and depth perception, to determine proper fit and operation of parts and equipment and product cleanliness to eliminate sources of product contamination in the clean-up process. The employee must also be able to perform the following tasks: * Ability to work at ease from elevated platforms and access stairways. * Occasionally lifting or moving objects up to 50 Lbs or up to 100 Lbs with assistance. * The employee will regularly have to work around moving forklifts, coating factory equipment such as mixing equipment, pumps, filling equipment, etc. * Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as Lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, safety shoes, will be provided to the employee and will be mandatory to wear in accordance with the department PPE hazard assessment.
