As part of the Indirect Procurement organization, provide strategic support to the IT Organization with a focus on the Telecom and Networking categories. This role will work closely with business stakeholders to understand business priorities and develop/execute category strategies to reduce total cost of ownership. This will be achieved through an understanding of industry benchmarking and best in class performance and by leveraging supplier innovation, supplier management, complex deal negotiation skills, sourcing tools and processes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Build relationships in order to partner with key stakeholders and senior leadership to understand strategic direction and business objectives and priorities in order to develop and execute effective sourcing strategies
- Achieve business requirements while effectively capturing value (i.e. cost improvements, risk mitigation, cost avoidance, process improvements, supplier consolidation)
- Overall responsibility for developing, communicating and implementing procurement strategies for IT related categories of IT Telecom and Networking.
- Extensive knowledge in IT Telecom and Networking Sourcing (Products, Services and Maintenance). A preferred candidate will be experienced in all of the sub-categories.
- Develop and sustain strategic relationships with key suppliers through best in class Supplier Management practices
- Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models and benchmarking analysis tools
- In-depth understanding of best-in-class procurement practices including extensive end-to-end experience in Sourcing processes, Negotiations, Supplier Analysis, Industry Analysis, Supplier Management and RFx expertise
- Negotiate appropriate supplier agreements with Key Performance Indicators (KPI), Service Level Agreements (SLA) and Continuous Improvement efficiencies
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology or equivalent
- 3-5 years of Engineering or IT experience (direct or in a supporting organization such as Product Management or Procurement) with 1-2 years third party engagement experience
- Moderate IT technology understanding with robust industry network
- Project management experience required with ability to multi-task with high volume throughput
- ARIBA experience preferred for sourcing, contracting, and advanced Spreadsheets ability preferred
- Able to travel occasionally as needed to support business requirements
- Strategic thought process with ability to challenge status quo
- Exemplary negotiation skills in a robust and large corporate procurement environment
- Demonstrated ability to build strategic partnerships across the organization and vendors
- Excellent communication skills
- Accomplished in being accountable to achieve measurable results with the ability and wherewithal to get things done through both formal and informal channels
- Anticipates and adjusts for problems and obstacles
- Self-motivated
