Job Description The student will have an opportunity to gain real world work experience in the Specialty Chemicals industry while working under the supervision of an experienced Chemical Engineer.nbsp; The student will work directly for a Chemical Engineer, while another Chemical Engineer will serve as a professional mentor throughout the internship.nbsp; The mentor will help students develop in a progressive manner with an increasing amount of responsibility. Projects will be designed to help the intern gain knowledge of one or more of the following: * Safety, plant layout and equipment, development and design of plant improvements, economic analysis, and cost estimation. * Implement new processes or improve operating profit, capacity, safety, or quality of existing products and processes at one of Albemarles Manufacturing Plants. * Opportunity for hands on experience with a variety of unit operations and technologies. * Work closely with more experienced engineers and interface with many departments, including Operations, Engineering, Ramp;D, Process Technology, management, and wage roll employees and will gain exposure to both managers and hourly employees in the field. For students who move to the Albemarle work location, the company provides assistance with relocation and housing. Essential Qualifications: * Prior industrial or manufacturing experience a plus. * Enrolled as a full time student. * Cumulative required GPA is 3.2 or above out of a 4.0 scale. * Have completed 2nd semester sophomore requirements.
