The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for a wide variety of human resource functions, with the main focus being on recruitment. Other activities may include employee relations, plant/corporate communication, compliance and general human resource activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Responsible for all aspects of recruitment and onboarding for hourly non-exempt positions. * Develop and maintain an effective recruitment strategy. * Maintain job requirements and job descriptions for all positions. * Partner with hiring managers to determine temporary and regular staffing needs in each department. * Monitor progress of temporary employees as needed and replace when necessary. * Prepare recruitment materials and post open positions to appropriate internal and external job boards. * Utilize traditional and non-traditional resources, such as career fairs, online job fairs, social media, and community network events, etc. to attract and identify quality candidates. * Manage internal transfer and employee referral processes. * Facilitate employment testing as appropriate. * Conduct interviews using various reliable recruiting and selection tools/methods to filter candidates. * Assess candidates relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, and experience in accordance with the essential functions of the job. * Make job offers to qualified and chosen candidates; and coordinate post-offer pre-employment exam and drug screen and order background check. * Facilitate internal onboarding procedure and schedule orientation and training for new employees in order to ensure full integration into the Company. * Provide and maintain well-documented records on recruiting activities as needed. * Follow-up with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback (30/60/90 day reviews). * Maintain current candidate activity in the applicant tracking system. * Work closely with the HR department to discuss recruiting issues, strategies and ideas for improvement. * Manage applications/resume files and retention according to Company policy and applicable state, federal and local regulations. * Handle employee relations coaching, disciplining and retention. * Interpret and enforce Company policies and procedures. * Preserve compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefit laws and regulations. * Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies. * Perform other duties as assigned. Working Environment and Conditions This position operates in a professional office environment which is climate controlled and a low noise area.
