    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    The Licensed Practical Nurse administers medically prescribed treatment, coordinates nursing care, and monitors the performance of acceptable standards of nursing care on his/her assigned nursing unit.

    The  Licensed Practical Nurse must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the residents served on his/her unit – adult through geriatric.  The Licensed Practical Nurse must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.  The Licensed Practical Nurse participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.  The Licensed Practical Nurse provides care needed as described in the Nursing Department's policies and procedures.

    EDUCATION:

     Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.

     WORK EXPERIENCE:

     Minimum of one (1) year of satisfactory experience in geriatric setting preferred.

     SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

     Must be cleared by PA State Police criminal history check.

    Possession of a current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nurse Examiners required OR eligible for such licensure.

    CPR Certification required or must be obtained and must be maintained.

    Must maintain the standards of nursing care and implement the policies and procedures of the Nursing Department and Allied Services.

    Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required for effective interaction with staff, residents and visitors.

    Good management skills required.

    Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide individualized care appropriate to the age specific need and culture of the patient served.

     PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

     Heavy Work: duties require exerting 25-50 lbs. of force frequently (approx 33-66% of the time), and/or 10-25 lbs. of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects.  Position involves bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting (occasionally in strained positions) throughout shift.

    CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB:

    Administers medication and performs treatments to assigned residents. Administers IV’s and IV medications in accordance with policies and procedures.  Reports pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents to the appropriate person (i.e., Charge Nurse, RN, Unit Manager and/or nursing supervisor), and records those observations accurately and concisely.  Provides for exceptional customer service, utilizing interpersonal communication skills and behavior management skills, including positive reinforcement.  Assigns nursing care to team members in accordance with the resident’s needs and the personnel’s capabilities and qualifications, and assigns other duties as needed.  Assists team members in giving care to residents or administers direct care when needed.

    • Participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to predefined architectural specifications. Identify and troubleshoot application code-related issues
    • Prepare unit and integration test plans for program changes, and in cooperation with clients and other I.T. personnel, perform the testing
    • Review and provide feedback to any required final user documentation
    • Work cross-functionally with other team members: other engineers, testers, product owners, designers, Ops, customer support
    • Partner with QA, DB, BA/PO and other dependent teams
