    Job Description

    The Software Development Intern for Alpine, an ITW Company, will work on Alpine’s next generation web platform as a full stack developer, to design and develop new product features. The intern will work closely with other members of the development team, the product owner, and UI/UX Designers. This role is full stack, that includes working on both the front end, using Typescript and Angular, as well as the backend microservices using C# and ASP.NET Core, deployed to Azure.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Gain an understanding of the architecture and coding standards for Alpine’s web platform
    • Work with the product owner to understand the business requirements and the value proposition behind product features that are built
    • Understand and follow the Agile methodology and scrum processes
    • Follow coding best practices and write clean, maintainable code that can be unit tested
    • Collaborate with the development team
    • Work closely with the Intern Manager to keep them updated on status, design decisions and any impediments faced
    • Build out unit tests for any new code to ensure code quality
    • Writing reusable components that can be used across different areas of the application
    • Demo completed work to the team and the product owner in sprint review meetings

    Expected Learnings:

    • Enhance technical experience in UI Frameworks like Angular, microservices architecture and cloud technologies like Azure
    • Application of SOLID design principles
    • Agile Development process and Scrum framework
    • Unit testing

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Rising Senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field. A minor in Structural or Civil Engineering, while not required, could be a plus
    • Good understanding and working knowledge of modern web technologies and responsive design
    • Experience with Angular, TypeScript, HTML, CSS
    • Working knowledge of C#, .NET, database concepts and SQL. Entity Framework and Graph QL are a plus
    • Commitment to following best practices and writing clean, maintainable code
