    Job Description

    The Software Quality Assurance Intern for Alpine, an ITW Company, will help develop capabilities for test automation within Alpine’s intelliView Web product, both by examining existing test automation processes for the intelliView legacy platform and development of new test automation processes for the cloud solution. The resulting automation should help improve Alpine’s efficiency in alignment with our Agile/Scrum methodology and our goal of continuous integration/deployment.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Gain an understanding of Alpine’s intelliView Web platform, the current capabilities and current test processes for the platform
    • Work with the product owner to understand the business requirements and the value proposition behind product features that are built
    • Understand and follow the Agile methodology and scrum processes
    • Develop a plan to transition from manual regression testing to an automated testing approach, including its integration into a CI/CD pipeline
    • Collaborate with Development Manager, Product Owner and QA Leads to identify the key modules for an automated test suite
    • Demonstrate the functionality by developing an initial set of automated test cases and its integration into the CI/CD process
    • Share key learnings and implementation/approach with the team

    Expected Learnings:

    • Concepts of automated unit tests, service tests, and UI tests
    • High-level understanding of Alpine’s existing automated testing framework and the functionality that is being tested
    • Understanding of available testing frameworks and opportunities to leverage for improved testing efficiency
    • Ability to create and execute automated tests using an automated testing framework such as Ranorex or Selenium

    Qualifications

    • Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science or Information Technology related field

    • Proficient in one or more programming languages such as C++, C#, or Java and database technologies such as SQL Server and MongoDB
