    SUMMARY:

    The Vice President of Clinical Innovations leads the strategy development and manages the operations for virtual programs nationwide and the overall development and growth of technology as applied to patient care. The position requires strategic operations leadership that supports and advances program quality and the mission of the organization. In addition to technological development responsibilities, this role will conduct data collection, research, and use technology and innovation to digitize program manuals and enhance patient and remote staff engagement.

     

    JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    Collaborates with system Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) and other senior-level executives to define and execute strategy across telehealth programs to deliver high value and quality clinical outcomes for patients.

    • Creates free-standing, system-wide telehealth service line.
    • Partners with CTS leadership to improve telehealth platform and focuses on increasing patient usage, improving patient engagement, and clinical outcomes.
    • Tracks telehealth outcomes, drivers of outcomes and produces quarterly reports summarizing findings.
    • Establishes operational standards for telehealth teams and monitors productivity and efficiencies. Leads process improvement initiatives for telehealth teams and interfaces with users to gather feedback used in process improvements and quality control.
    • Identifies opportunities for program growth areas and enhanced service delivery while streamlining clinical operations using technology, systems, tools, and internal resources.
    • Consults with Legal and Regulatory departments to ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to telehealth services, licensing, as well as program-specific policies.
    • Keeps abreast of developments at the intersection of technology, analytics, and operations to drive clinical innovation.
    • Develops organization-wide telehealth clinical policies procedures and initiatives for growth in collaboration with CCO and other senior-level executives to ensure delivery of high-quality care and high patient satisfaction.
    • Understands trends and customer expectations shaping the telehealthcare industry including
    • exploring its use within the system for traditional/ basic outpatient services.

     

    Improves other existing technologies (e.g., Rogers MyPath) in partnership with VP of CTS, the CTS Team and medical and clinical leadership.

    • Develops other capabilities of existing technologies (e.g., develop new behavioral health and addiction content for Rogers MyPath) and spreads their use to other populations and levels of care.
    • Increases use of Retrain OCD app throughout the system and spreads to other age groups and other clinical populations.
    • Tracks existing technologies outcomes and produces quarterly reports summarizing findings.Explores the development of additional app-based and other technological innovations to improve
    • patient care and safety.

     

    Collaborates with CTS and senior clinical leadership to digitize clinical protocol manuals and works with Talent Development to create an adult learning-based, interactive, technology-driven clinical staff training program (e.g., CBT Academy).

    • Partners with CTS to explore tablet-based protocol delivery systems.
    • Partners with TD to build an interactive, adult learning-based platform for CBT Academy to create an on-demand, effective training tool.

     

    Identifies opportunities and priorities through data and advanced analytics research.

    • Analyzes clinical evidence and outcomes to develop an objective, unbiased and defensible policies to decrease unwarranted variation in telehealth programs vs traditional onsite programs.
    • Analyzes app usage and relevant outcomes.
    • Analyzes data related to digitized manual usage, patient satisfaction, and relevant outcomes.
    • Submit articles for publication in scientific journals related to telehealth services, the use of apps and other technologies as well as seeks grant funding for technology-related research and its applications to behavioral health and addiction.

    Required Experience

    1. Ph.D., M.D., or advanced degree in health-related technology.
    2. Ten years of high-level strategic and operational leadership with five years of leadership experience.
    3. Solid understanding of advanced statistical analytics and commitment to evidenced-based practice and research.
    4. Experience in the development, implementation, and communication of clinical policies.
    5. Program growth-focused.
    6. Excellent communication skills, customer focus, proficiency, leadership ability, and professional integrity.
    7. Self-starter attitude; comfortable with working independently.
    8. Electronic medical record software experience with Cerner.
    9. Strong proficiency in Adobe® and Microsoft® Office Products.
    10. Ability to work quickly and effectively in a fast-paced detail-oriented environment while adhering to deadlines.
