  • Responsibilities

    With supervision, the R&D Pilot Line Technician is responsible for processing pilot line manufacturing trials in a safe and timely manner with extremely high quality. Technician is also responsible for reviewing trial requests for accuracy and documenting all results of trials.

     

    1. Reviews trial requests for accuracy, offers suggestions of modifications where needed.

    2. Sets up equipment to execute trial requests. (Including but not limited to: Cutting area, Printing press, Extruder, Geometric Line, Straight line gluer, Window machine)

    3. Documents all trial request results.

    4. Identifies potential equipment needs and maintains pilot line equipment as necessary, including powered industrial vehicles.

    5. Receives incoming materials/ships outgoing samples/pallets and maintains inventory control.

    6. Participates in all safety related training activities, including SDS review and tracking documentation.

    Required Skills

    Qualified candidate will have at a minimum a High School diploma or equivalent (GED).  Candidate must be comfortable working with and around customers.

     

    Ability to lift up to 40-50 lbs. Ability to work safely and effectively on/around large manufacturing equipment.  Communicates and works effectively and safely around sometimes dangerous chemicals and chemical environments.

    Required Experience

    10+ years of experience operating and maintaining manufacturing equipment used in the packaging converting industry (printing presses, laminators, die-cutters/sheeters, folder/gluers).
