Project DescriptionLead a cross functional team to investigate, troubleshoot, and execute a plan to improve a manufacturing process. The project will be a real-world application of engineering, problem solving, and leadership skills to achieve a result that benefits the company and provides a worthwhile experience to the intern. Candidate DevelopmentExposure to consumer goods manufacturing and supply chain operations. Opportunities to lead teams of hourly and salaried staff and gain experience troubleshooting a real-world manufacturing issue. Work cross-functionally with safety, quality assurance, engineering, project management, and R&D to develop solutions for projects. Professional networking with Amway executives, directors, managers, individual contributors, and peer interns. Ample volunteer opportunities to help give back to the community. Desired DegreeMust be currently enrolled in a 4 year accredited program and a degree in a technical field. Mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, packaging engineering,plastics engineering, manufacturing engineering, or applied engineering is preferred. Desired SkillsDemonstrated Leadership experience within an extracurricular organization, ability to learn quickly, adapt to a changing environment, and lead teams to solve problems, ability to be an effective change agent in an organization and passionate about manufacturing, consumer goods, and working in teams. *This is a summer 2019 internship; qualified candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and one semester or more left of school to complete at the beginning of their internship. Candidates who have graduated are not eligible to intern. There are 8 available manufacturing internships at any of the following locations: Ada, Michigan, Buena Park, CA or Quincy, Washington. ** This position is not eligible for Sponsorship.
