  • Responsibilities

    The financial analyst is responsible for analyzing and controlling the company's expenses. The position will provide costing and financial analysis to key decision makers throughout the company and offer a strong working knowledge of system operations. The position will report to the VP of Finance and will support the organization with financial functions such as planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial accounting, month close, and cost analysis. 

     

    • Runs and documents financial analysis projects.
    • Aids organization with financial functions, such as assessing, planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial accounting, month close, and cost analysis.
    • Evaluates and analyzes capital expenditures, proposals, investment opportunities, rate of return, profit
    • Analyzes records of present and past operations, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative expenses, product margins and costs.
    • Documents revenues and expenditures expected and submits to management.
    • Develops financial/accounting concepts for financial planning and control.
    • Assists in preparation of special studies, analyses, and recommendations in areas such as budgets, annual operating plans, and forecasts.
    • Advises management on matters, such as effective use of resources and assumptions underlying budgets and forecasts.
    • Interprets budgets to management.
    • May act as consultant to management on financial policies, procedures, and applications.
    • May provide functional and technical direction to other staff members.
    • Other responsibilities, as assigned.

    Required Skills

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Strong skills using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel required.
    • Skills using Microsoft Navision Dynamics a plus.
    • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers, customers and vendors both verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong desire to learn and be a problem solver.

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Normal working conditions absent extreme factors.
    • Must be able to see well enough to read reports, send emails, etc..
    • Must be able to hear and speak well enough to communicate with customers and vendors.
    • Must be able to lift up to 25lbs periodically.

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
    • 2-5 years of Accounting or Finance related experience required.
