    The University of Montana invites applications for an ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN PERFORMANCE.  The successful applicant will participate in all aspects of the Health and Human Performance Department at the University of Montana.

    Duties will include:

    1. TEACHING: Provide quality instruction in graduate courses in the Athletic Training Program and undergraduate courses as needed in the department. Direct independent studies, graduate research projects, and theses. Courses taught dependent on departmental needs and successful candidate’s interests.

    2.  RESEARCH/SCHOLARSHIP:  Develop a focused area of scholarship that culminates in nationally refereed publications and professional presentations, be involved in scholarly projects with faculty and students, and demonstrate potential to obtain external funding to conduct research.

    3. SERVICE: Participate in faculty meetings and University activities. Serve on Department, College, and/or University Committees and contribute to professional organizations.

     

    Position Details

    POSITION: 10 month AY 1.0 FTE Tenure track position, with possibility of summer teaching and/or competitive research salary for summer.

    START DATE: Position beginning August 2019

    SALARY: Competitive and commensurate with experience

     

    REQUIREMENTS

    Minimum Qualifications:

     

    • PhD or EdD in Athletic Training or related field; DAT may be considered; ABD will be considered but degree must be awarded by start date
    • Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) with at least three (3) years of experience
    • Eligible for Licensure in the state of Montana (upon hiring successful candidate will obtain licensure by start date)
    • Evidence of successful higher education teaching experience
    • Detailed-oriented, highly organized and efficient individual with the ability to establish an independent research program and collaborate with current faculty in research
    • Evidence of potential for securing extramural funding for research
    • Evidence of potential for scholarly publications in peer-reviewed journals

     

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

     

    • Experience in grant writing
    • Previous experience with a CAATE accredited program
    • Professional service associated with the CAATE, NATA, BOC, or other professional associations
    • Member of the NATA
