Arconic Fastening Systems Arconic Fastening Systems is seeking a Tooling Design Engineer I. This is a great opportunity for a college graduate in Mechanical Engineering or an experienced Tooling Design Engineer to join an innovative Fortune 500 organization. The Tooling Design Engineer I will perform basic design of tools for cold heading and rolling machines and related functions to support manufacture of new products and improve manufacturing processes for existing products. This position is based in our Waco, TX facility. Key Responsibilities: Designs tools for cold heading and rolling operations and related functions which ensure that products manufactured meet all specifications while maximizing life of tooling. Designs tools for new products or machines and changes or improves existing tool drawings. Makes machine part drawings and tool drawings from broken parts. Consults with Production Technicians and Manufacturing Supervisors to determine best design concepts, processes and methods. Interfaces with Production Technicians to participate in trouble shooting of manufacturing problems. Evaluates tool designs and set up for proper functioning and cost effectiveness. Checks drawings of others for errors and makes corrections as necessary. Communicates effectively with all levels of personnel. Responsible for maintaining header and rollers on Bill of National Set-Up books. Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards. Maintains full compliance with Company policies and procedures and conducts all activities in accordance with the Alcoa Guide to Business Conduct. Demonstrates a knowledge of and commitment to learn manufacturing principles and techniques. Performs all work activities in accordance with safety and environmental standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accredited Institution Minimum of one year of Mechanical Engineering work experience (including internships) Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Preferred Qualifications: Prefer BS Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2 years mechanical engineering work experience is preferred Experience designing cold header tools is a plus Proficient with AutoCAD and SolidWorks
