This is a support role primarily for design engineering, with manufacturing, testing, Ramp;D, and electrical engineering exposure. You will interact with supervisors, project leaders, engineers, technicians, skilled trades, and cross functional project stakeholders on a daily basis. THE DAY TO DAY * Support engineering staff(s) by performing basic engineering assignments in the design and development of outdoor power products * This can involve participation with planning, technology research, materials engineering, functional design, prototyping, product /component testing, etc. Observe and learn manufacturing capabilities to permit Design for Manufacturability (DFMA) In this internship you will gain experience with: * Subsystem design and analysis * Concept development, evaluation and testing * SolidWorks * Design presentations and reports * Microsoft Office You will be exposed to: * The product development process and manufacturing principles * Design reviews * Project management tools and methodologies * Fabrication processes including welding, brake press metal forming, laser, cutting, machining, stamping, powder painting and more * Final assembly processes * Facilities and tools of a research and development model making shop and testing department * Rapid prototyping tools THE QUALIFICATIONS * Must be enrolled as a student at an accredited university studying toward a Bachelors degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Engineering Physics or similar * Must have and maintain a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0/4.0 * Should be mechanically inclined and have an interest in new product development, outdoor power equipment, and manufacturing * Computer-Aided Design (CAD) experience preferred About AriensCo Since 1933, the AriensCo name has been associated with reliable, durably crafted, high-performance outdoor power equipment.
