    Arsenal Products is a robotic systems integrator in Austin, TX that helps SME’s reduce manufacturing costs with industrial and collaborative robots. Arsenal provides complete turnkey automation systems and robotic adhesive dispensing products.

    Arsenal is looking for a PROJECT ENGINEER that is a highly motivated, results oriented, and customer focused individual with a high commitment level. This position will be an initial contract period and have the potential of transforming to a full time role. The ideal candidate will likely be a degreed mechanical engineer (or similar engineering discipline) with demonstrated project management skills.

    Job Description:

    Serve as a primary interface with clients for communication of project schedule and budget status

    Initiate and plan the full design, manufacturing, assembly, test, and documentation phases for the development of custom, automated/robotic equipment

    Prepare and manage project plans to satisfy milestones, deadlines, and budget

    Track and communicate project status, project risks, risk mitigation, issues, and action items to customers and internal management

    Coordinate day-to-day activities of project team members including design, electrical/controls, manufacturing, assembly, test, delivery, and installation

    Facilitate discussions for development of customer requirements and engineering specifications through direct communication with customer

    Design and engineer new automated tooling and systems for the assembly of medium volume devices including mechanical and basic controls within an ISO 9001 design and manufacturing environment

    Perform in in-depth engineering simulation and analysis (tolerance analysis, FEA, etc)

    Routinely perform elementary design calculations; i.e., motor speed/torque, tolerance stackups, etc.

    Plan and organize tool characterization, factory acceptance testing, and site acceptance testing (through tool IQ/OQ/PQ)

    Heavily involved with Quality System compliance

    Coordinate development of equipment documentation including user manuals and spare parts lists

    Conduct and document internal and customer facing technical and design reviews

    Regularly reports progress updates to management

    Requirements:

    BS/MS in Engineering or similar engineering discipline

    2-5 years of experience managing technical projects related to equipment (preferably automated tooling and/or robotics)

    Proven ability to manage multiple technically complex projects on-time, within budget, meeting business expectations

    In-depth knowledge of common design and manufacturing processes utilized for manufacturing including CNC machining, laser cutting, waterjet, EDM, laser welding, MIM, 3D printing, and injection molding

    Thorough knowledge of materials appropriate for machine design, mechanisms, wear, etc

    Demonstrated experience of design, process, inspection and validation methods

    Proficient in Solidworks

    Demonstrated ability to work within a quality system

    Excellent verbal, written, and digital communication skills to communicate technical and business information to all levels inside and outside the organization

    Strong interpersonal skills

    Ability to breakdown and solve complex engineering challenges

    Motivation to consistently learn and improve processes and tools

    Due to the nature of work we perform U.S. citizenship or valid Permanent Resident status is required for qualified candidates

    Additional Preferred Requirements:

    Familiar with state of the art technologies in the following areas: control systems integration, controls architectures, PLC’s, motion control systems, electro-mechanical drive systems, robotics, part sensing, vision, risk assessment, and safety systems

    Familiar with common lean manufacturing tools such as six sigma, 5S, 3P, etc

    Familiar with MiniTab and basic statistical analysis techniques

    Highly data-driven

    Ability for occasional travel (2-3 days/month) for on-site customer support
