    Position Description Electrical Engineer Intern Job Location Hayden Operations - Hayden, AZ Current # Open 1 Employee Type Student Apply Now Electrical Engineer Intern (Maintenance Department) will be assigned to the ASARCO Hayden Operations, consisting of a copper concentrator and copper smelter, located 70 miles north of Tucson, Arizona. Duties will include/assist in: Functions related to plant facilities and maintenance support. This includes specifying electrical equipment, supervising procurement, installation and giving support to maintenance functions. Areas of concern are motor/starter/switchgear selection, PLCs, VFDs and training/troubleshooting skills. Have interaction with vendors and contractors on projects and material selection. Report to management on facility energy management including energy audits/conservation, SRP interface, substation maintenance along with contract and quality of service provisions. Positions Requirements: Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Requires excellent organizational and interpersonal abilities Our offer will require at least a ten-week internship commitment between mid-May and mid-August. Must be attending college on a full-time basis Must be Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Graduate level Must be majoring in Electrical or closely related discipline A core value of ASARCO LLC is Safety First.
