    Job Description

    SUMMARY:       

    This position reports to the HR Manager.  As an essential member of the Human Resources team, the HR Assistant/Recruiter will provide daily support to operations managers, supervisors, team leaders and employees. This position will oversee daily responsibilities associated with recruiting, onboarding, training, coaching, employee engagement, and operational effectiveness, as well as assist with company-wide projects and initiatives.

    OBJECTIVES:

    • Provide daily support for assigned HR processes for Cedar Rapids Plant through the Interaction with Supervisors, Team Leaders and Employees.
    • Assist HR Manager with roll out and implementation of new projects.

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

    • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; friendly and professional demeanor.
    • Attention to detail and thorough follow through, ability to meet deadlines.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to maintain the confidentiality, sensitivity, and security of information.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Requires four year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or other closely related field.
    • Prefer at least 2 years’ experience in a recruiter level HR role, preferably in a manufacturing environment. 
    • Demonstrated understanding of HR principles and practices, familiarity with federal and state regulations.  PHR or other HR certification preferred.
    • Prior experience with an HRIS system preferred.
