Job Description

The Vinyl and Metals Cost Analyst is responsible for maintaining and updating the windows bill of materials. In addition, the cost analyst works closely with engineering, sourcing and marketing on a daily basis. The cost analyst must possess strong relationship skills.

• Maintain product bills of material (BOMs)
• Prepare and review month end journal entries
• Maintain standard cost files
• Assist with month end and year-end closing process
• Prepare and analyze financial information, costs, and ad hoc reports
• Utilize Excel, Access, and Oracle to retrieve and analyze financial and cost data
• Other general accounting duties as appropriate
• Must have a sense of urgency and be very detailed on follow up product requests, emails, etc.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or other business-related field
• Experience using all Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Communication skills to express ideas and concepts verbally, visually and in writing
• Use of financial and quantitative information to optimize results and meet financial commitments
• Planning and organization to set targets / milestones and follow through on commitments
• Ability to work within a team and to motivate others to a higher level of performance
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and guidance

Qualifications Desired:

• Familiarity with vinyl, metal and window products and related building products
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or other business-related field
• Strong systems/IT background, to assist in improving current manufacturing systems
