Job Description

Reporting to the VP of Materials, the Logistics Analyst is responsible for day to day support of our manufacturing facilities, distribution supply centers, and direct customers to ensure an efficient daily workflow for both Inbound and Outbound shipments.  The candidate will work with the Logistics Manager, dedicated 3PL provider, and other 3rd party carriers within the network and provide support for tactical and functional execution of business strategies. The candidate must be willing and able to take on tasks and assignments that might be otherwise outside of their normal job description. 

OBJECTIVES:

• Support the development, procurement and sustainability of a service provider network to meet and exceed the requirements of our customer base.
• Partner with Transportation provider to drive compliance with a Core Carrier routing strategy, while managing transportation cost, quality and service to expected levels.
• Identify and engage inbound vendors; develop requests for quotations; and negotiate the best value possible; utilize customer routing mechanisms.
• Provide continuous operational improvement by ensuring contracted carriers deliver required and committed service levels.
• Create, implement, and manage Key Performance Indicators to ensure timely and appropriate business decisions are made across the network.
• Review and negotiate Transportation contract terms and conditions in concert with corporate legal and corporate risk while balancing capacity and service requirements.
• Ensure timely implementation and communications resulting from all rate, capacity and carrier assignment negotiations to required business partners.
• Audit and ensure timeliness of rates and payments in line with negotiated carrier rates.
• Implement ISO based processes to aide in streamlining of daily activities and ensuring a path to continuous improvement.

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee the daily transportation metrics across multiple locations, including but not limited to; cube utilization and On Time Delivery.
• Ensure timeliness of payments to carrier base.
• Review and negotiate new carrier contracts as required while optimizing Cost, Quality, and Delivery of products across the network.
• Manage existing carrier contracts ensuring compliance.
• Negotiation of carrier rates

• Internal and external customers
• Supply Chain and other internal and external materials support providers

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years of transportation management experience including domestic surface and intermodal transportation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, or other Business-related field.
• Manufacturing experience preferred
• Vendor management/qualification experience required
• Exceptional negotiation and transportation pricing strategy skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with a team-first mentality.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• Advanced skillset in MS Office applications (Excel and Access)
