    Job Description

    The Vice President, Human Resources is responsible for developing and executing the people strategy in support of Associated Materials’ commercial organizations (Alside Distribution, AM Sales and Product Management & Marketing) to meet strategic and annual business objectives. This includes the coordination and implementation of processes, policies and programs regarding organizational development, talent development, employee engagement, succession planning, retention, leadership development, diversity and inclusion, and internal communications.

    In addition to partnering with leadership across the businesses, the VP of HR will partner closely with senior HR leadership on key business and HR initiatives to develop and execute HR strategies that focus on maximizing overall talent capabilities, leadership development, and driving both culture change and a continuous improvement mindset throughout the company.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Serve as a business partner and peer on the Alside Distribution, Direct Sales and Product Managment & Markting leadership teams, to align the organization’s human capital and talent to the organization’s mission, goals, and strategic plan
    • Partner with business leaders to lead the Human Resources team’s efforts to drive business strategy, organization capability and effectiveness, performance, and sustainable long-term organic and inorganic growth.
    • Coach business/function senior leadership team in talent-related discussions/planning and in implementation of performance management process and executive communications
    • Understand business dynamics of client organization and drive HR practices and processes that translate business strategies and issues into appropriate HR actions.
    • Represent needs of business unit, provide input to benefit/comp program design and provide feedback to COE on comp/benefit program effectiveness, communications, and deployment strategy
    • Identify current and future trends/patterns impacting business strategy and HR standards as well as future business needs and gaps within the organization.
    • Serve as the expert regarding organizational development including assisting in development and implementation of change strategies/management; organization structure/role changes; organization culture; process improvements and team development.
    • Provide direction and support on employee relations issues to ensure consistency in the application of Associated Materials’ policies, procedures, and ER best practices.
    • Champion Associated Material’s values and culture; continue the company’s ability to attract, engage, and retain a high-performance team that can lead growth.
    • Create the human capital plan ensuring the company develops and maintains an environment which supports both employee and organizational growth
    • Drive our Business and Culture Transformation by crafting an outstanding and modern Employee Experience through all Human Resources touch points throughout an employee journey.
    • Foster a culture where ownership of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, along with Environment Health and Safety, is embraced by all employees.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 15+ years of experience in a senior HRBP and leadership role, with a broad depth of experience in organizational design, management coaching, team building, compensation, employee relations, training, change management and HR program implementation.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations or similar discipline required, Master’s Degree preferred.
    • 7+ years of management experience
    • Legal authorization to work in the United States – sponsorship will not be provided for this position
    • Ability to travel up to 30%

    PREFERRED EDUCTION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

    • 2 to 5 years in a labor (bargained-for) environment, preferred.
    • 2 to 5 years in distribution-based business, preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to align HR programs to business goals and objectives in a high growth environment.
    • Distribution industry experience preferred.
    • Experience supporting a field-based organization (e.g. Services, Sales) preferred.
    • Incentive compensation and total rewards experience preferred.
    • Business transformation experience.
    • Engaging leadership style to effectively interface and influence technical and commercial business leaders at the senior level regarding strategies and practices.
    • Strong results orientation leveraging an advanced business acumen/strategic orientation, influence leadership, and change leadership .
    • Flourish in a lean, hands-on, practical environment.
    • Consistently demonstrates the highest ethical standards and integrity.
    • Previous record of achievement in leading change management, developing accountability, executing performance improvement and customer service programs.
    • Experience hiring and supporting hourly population in environments such as manufacturing, distribution, and/or operations.
    • Proven ability to gain a deep knowledge of corporate business practices, policies, organization structure, roles/responsibilities to fully understand business and industry dynamics
