    Job Description

    The Manufacturing Plant Engineer supports plant quality compliance and manufacturing process improvements including product quality, cost, and delivery improvements, and improvements in work environment safety.  This position leads continuous improvement activities, and leads root cause and corrective action analysis and implementation to resolve quality issues.

     

     OBJECTIVES:

    ·         Improve productivity and increase capacity resulting in improvements in manufacturing KPIs

    ·         Lead timely root cause investigations and corrective actions to resolve quality-related issues, poor productivity, and safety incidences.

    ·         Assist in the implementation of capital improvement projects

    ·         Support plant quality compliance, product quality improvement and manufacturing process capability

     

    DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    ·         Must exhibit hands on, plant floor “bias for action” approach

    ·         Define and lead engineering projects to improve product quality and manufacturing process capability.

    ·         Analyze data streams to identify potential opportunities for quality and productivity improvement.

    ·         Promote analytical problem solving through sound lean manufacturing methodologies.

    ·         Incorporate Lean/Six Sigma tools and methods in team activities for both manufacturing and business process problem solving.

    ·         Improve process discipline through deployment of basic quality tools (ex. Standard work, Layered Process Audits, Finished Product Audits, and Structured Problem Solving).

    ·         Locally champion corporate initiatives in quality and operational excellence

    ·         Expand the quality system infrastructure using ISO principles to ensure robust, reproducible, high quality manufacturing processes.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    ·         BS in Engineering or Applied Sciences.

    ·         3-7 years of quality/process engineering in a manufacturing environment with a minimum of 2 years experience in which candidate had responsibility for the qualification and implementation of product quality and/or process improvement projects.

    ·         Experience in Engineering Change control, including supplier PPAP and non-conforming material disposition
