    AstraZeneca's strategy in Renal-Cardio focuses on ways to reduce morbidity, mortality and organ damage by addressing multiple risk factors across cardiovascular (CV) disease, and chronic kidney-disease indications. The patient-centric approach is reinforced by science-led life-cycle management programs and technologies, including early research into regenerative methods.

    MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Sales Training Department in AstraZeneca (AZ) was originally focused on delivering learning and training for AZ's pharmaceutical sales force. As the Commercial Learning Department (CLD) has emerged, its mandate is to influence content and deliver training to other parts of the Commercial organization. As the new group expands and grows, the role of the Sales Trainer will also evolve. The Trainer will report to the Director of CVMD and Renal Cardio Training, however, they may be deployed to another area within the department to respond to business needs. Trainers may be cross-trained on multiple brands to accommodate those business dynamics. The scope of this role will be to facilitate and implement training both within AstraZeneca's headquarters and in the field and includes travel on occasion. This training ranges from on boarding, product training, simulations week, and ongoing training related to promoted AZ brands, including launches. The trainer's role also involves working collaboratively with colleagues across Sales Training, Brand teams and externally with co-promotion or outsource partners. Additionally, the role will be responsible for understanding the training needs of the field, and in conjunction with the Learning Management Office, will identify and implement approved solutions.

    • Delivers training to sales teams to meet the needs identified in the sales training plan, including product specific training integrated with appropriate managed care concepts.
    • Lead or co-lead onboarding new sales representatives, introducing them to the organization, providing them with initial learning materials, and facilitating their integration into the organization at the USBC.
    • Lead or co-lead product sales training for existing portfolio and around new products and indications.
    • Lead or co-lead selling skills training for new hire and existing sales representatives, as well as outsource and co-promotion partners.
    • Work collaboratively with sales leaders to identify training needs and deliver approved solutions to sales representatives in the field.
    • Work closely with peer Trainers to understand training integration touch points
    • Collaborate with internal CL&D partners, brand teams and external vendors to identify training needs and create and refine training content for sales organization.
    • Work closely with brand teams to integrate brand strategy into all training content, both new hire and advanced. 
    • In tandem with CL&D Leadership, ensure field leadership is aligned with PSS training initiatives.
    • Identify and share best practices for training that can be leveraged across other therapeutic areas.
    • Align and implement department and commercial strategies, plans, and initiatives; model behaviors consistent with organizational culture, values, and policies.
    • Ensure compliance guidelines and accountabilities are clearly represented in all commercial learning material.
    • Create or identify new learning concepts in order to continuously improve the quality and impact of training within AstraZeneca.

    ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor's degree
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales or healthcare; preferably in Renal Cardio
    • Experience in training, curriculum design, and delivery preferred
    • Demonstrated leadership, communication and organizational skills 
    • Demonstrated consistent success as a Pharmaceutical Sales Specialist
    • Ability to effectively present and communicate ideas in large groups as well as one-on-one sessions.
    • Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor individuals on selling skills and product information.
    • Strong collaboration and networking skills to be able to counsel and influence peers effectively.
    • Strong project management experience to set and manage priorities, resources, goals, and initiatives.
    • Excellent writing, editing and communication skills.
    • Ability to establish and meet deadlines, work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
    • Ability to communicate effectively among diverse groups.

    DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

    • Thorough understanding of market dynamics within the Renal Cardio area preferred 
    • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical sales representative role and it's alignment to products promotion.
    • Extensive business acumen related to marketplace.
    • Ability to adapt and promote change 
    • Experience with launching a brand
