    JOB DESCRIPTION

    The Electrical Design Engineering Intern will contribute to the launch of new avionic flight display products through performing electrical analysis and test. The intern will be part of a project team having deliverables that contribute to the success of Astronautics Corporation. This role is focused around developing circuit board assemblies. Typical activities may include schematic capture, component selection, and circuit simulation, testing of existing boards, requirements development review, and report development. This role will provide an opportunity for professional development that results in substantial contribution to the on-going business needs of ACA.

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Sophomore/Junior/Senior standing majoring in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math, Aerospace Engineering, Biomedical Engineering Computer Science or Computer Engineering
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
    • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75/4.0
    • Permanently eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
    • Able to work full-time during the summer and part-time during the school year

     

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must have excellent communication, analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
    • Laboratory experience integrating multiple pieces of equipment, signal sources and processors
    • Experience with circuit simulation tools
    • Must be capable of working independently in a lab environment
    • Currently enrolled at Milwaukee School of Engineering, Marquette University, or UW-Milwaukee

    1. Demonstrated extensive knowledge of the subject area(s) in which the individual is responsible for instruction.
    2. Demonstrate acquiring extensive knowledge and experiences in US manufacturing.
    3. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of effective communication and of effective instruction.
    4. Knowledge and understanding of the characteristics of community college students.
    5. Knowledge and understanding of principles of curriculum development.
    6. Ability to communicate effectively in writing, and orally with a variety of audiences in a variety of settings.
    7. Ability to make professional judgments within defined parameters of policy and professional standards.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION:

    Master’s degree from a regionally accredited (or equivalent) institution of higher education in one of the following fields; or Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in one or more of the following fields:

     

    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Computer-Integrated Manufacturing
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Engineering Technology (Manufacturing)

     

    PREFERRED EDUCATION:

    A master’s degree in mechanical and/or Manufacturing Engineering from a regionally accredited college or university, with emphasis on (CNC) Computer Numerical Control programming & operation, Manual Machining & Fabrications, Additive Manufacturing, Lean Mfg., Industrial Safety, Quality Control.
