GENERAL SUMMARY:

 Under the direction of the Director of Recreation Therapy, the Recreation Therapy Aide plans, organizes, and implements a variety of individual and group activities designed to meet the needs of all residents of Allied Services Skilled Nursing Center.

 Assigned duties are implemented in a manner appropriate to the age-specific needs of the patients served.

EDUCATION:

 High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

 WORK EXPERIENCE:

 Previous experience working with a geriatric population preferred.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB:

Implements recreation programs to meet the needs of residents through age appropriate physical, cognitive, social and emotional activities inside the facility.  This includes planning and carrying out large and small group activities, as well as individual leisure pursuits.  Completes the required documentation including daily attendance, quarterly activity review and goal setting.  Assists with documentation for plan of care.  Conducts activity assessments on all admission/readmission’s as assigned. 

Required Skills Required Experience

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university degree program pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Quality, Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing or other related discipline.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills.
• GPA of 3.2 or above preferred
• Experience in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
