    SOFTWARE ENGINEER

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Writing software for both embedded and PC based systems in order to support Kearfott’s range of products in the aerospace and defense markets.
    • Performing design, analysis, simulation, testing, review, and integration of software subsystems following defined software development processes.
    • Working with a cross functional engineering team to develop and support technically complex systems.

     

     

    Required Skills

    REQUIRED SKILLS

    • Minimum of a BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
    • Proficiency in C and Python (or similar high level scripting language).
    • Ability to read, critically analyze, and perform formal code reviews.
    • Ability to write clean and concise code to meet requirements & follow software coding standards.
    • Desire to work on highly technical and complex mission critical systems.
    • Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal, and interpersonal skills.
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the US, visa sponsorship not available.
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen or be a U.S. Permanent Residence Card Holder.

    DESIRED SKILLS

    • Experience writing software for microcontrollers.
    • Ability to debug code, using software debuggers and/or other means.
    • Familiarity with hardware instrumentation such as using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
    • Experience using Eclipse/TI Code Composer is a plus.
