    The qualified candidate will become part of the Kearfott product development and support team.  The selected candidate will work in a dynamic people-focused environment where you will work directly with experienced engineers and scientists to enhance your skills and develop a higher level of confidence in your capabilities.

    • Engineering Interns will: 1) help in the coordination and development of engineering solutions; 2) research and determine requirements for components and systems; 3) derive technical data from test data and analysis; and 4) defend engineering solutions during internal reviews.
    • Other responsibilities may include: review of technical and management data, performance assessment, problem identification, corrective action planning and implementation.
    • Work with engineering teams to understand and evaluate the effects of changes in system requirement and designs.
    • Help develop computer codes to evaluate mathematical models.
    • Develop graphics displaying results of analyses.
    • Support reports and briefings describing results and significance of analyses performed.
    • Support definition, design and development of system requirements.
    • Support assessment of current system architecture and limitations.
    • Support technical investigations in systems design.

    Required Skills

    • Demonstrated creative problem solving skills.
    • GPA of 3.2 or above preferred
    • Experience in Microsoft Office.
    • Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills.

    Required Experience

    • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university degree program pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other similar engineering or scientific majors.
    • Knowledgeable in some of the following areas:  software programming, computer-aided design, analog / digital design, guidance & control, systems analysis, or systems integration.
    • Have coursework, interest, motivation and experience that provide the foundation to develop an expertise in one or more of the above engineering specialties.
    • Completed at least sophomore year of college/university.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
    • General knowledge and understanding of mathematical modeling and analysis methods.
    • Programming skills (e.g. EXCEL, MathCad, MATLAB, Simulink, C++, or equivalent).
    • Must be able to work full-time (40 hours per week) for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer 2018 semester.
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S., visa sponsorship not available.
    • Must be able to work on U.S. government programs and/or obtain security clearance in the future.
