The Product Engineering team in Athens, GA, is looking for a self-motivated engineering student to assist with product safety improvement projects. Candidates will be the engineering lead for processing data responsible for project execution, factory support, and design changes. This will require working in a cross-functional environment which includes communicating with other engineers both at a factory level as well as new product development.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams
    • Conduct technical, hands-on product safety reviews with key experts
    • Lead product safety engineering projects
    • Develop and qualify prototypes
    • Prepare and present project updates
  • Qualifications

    EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

    • Energetic team player with proven self-motivation skills
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to work well in a diverse team
    • Demonstrated ability to deliver projects/tasks on schedule
    • The preferred candidate will have an understanding of electrical systems and wire routing

    EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS

    • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
    • Preference is being given to candidates from the Atlanta University Center Consortium schools. This internship is a partnership between Atlanta University Center Consortium and its career centers
    • The minimum cumulaitive GPA requirement is 3.0 (3.2 preferred)
