Job Description
The Logistics (SML) coordinator is responsible for the coordination of all shipping operations to assure on-time order delivery at the lowest cost per MSI shipped, exceeding customer expectations. The role provides a variety of support services, in accordance with standard procedures, to the Supply Chain, Materials Management and / or Logistics function(s).
The regular shift is scheduled to be 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., Monday - Friday.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Actively participating in freight cost reduction efforts
Loading and unloading inbound and outbound materials
Monitoring status of orders scheduled to ship; facilitating and prioritizing the shipping process
Executing the shipping schedule; coordinating with Fasson Fleet, truckload and LTL carriers
Arranging outbound shipments with carriers
Coordinating with Customer Service and the scheduling, divisional transportation and production teams, as needed, on expedites / late orders, shipping requirements and paperwork discrepancies
Processing shipping documents and generating shipping reports
Maintaining data integrity within Oracle, PC systems, etc.
Acting as a liaison with divisional transportation, materials planning, NRC, Fleet and the carriers and distribution centers
Supporting 7-day / 24-hour shipping from Painesville
Actively participating in inventory activities
Supporting exports and international business
Resolving orders and shipment order statuses on the daily exception report
Actively employing and living by the EFP operating principles
Preparing outbound shipments, packing lists and commercial and pro forma invoices for international shipments
Making timely and accurate shipment transactions in all pertinent inventory control and financial systems
Purchasing production supplies within monthly budgets
Providing tow motor and skyjack training / certification to Operations team members
Managing inventory of and ordering packaging supplies
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Knowledge of motor carrier operations desired
1-3 years manufacturing experience
Strong tow motor skills
Proficient in Oracle systems
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrated participation in key projects and initiatives
Ability to perform detailed analyses and present data-driven solutions
Demonstrated strength in in-house systems—AS400, Oracle and PC
Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
Ability to interact effectively with the plants, division and carriers
Flexibility in working hours to meet the needs of internal and external customers
Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks under tight time constraints
Ability to demonstrate proficiency in Google and the following programs: Microsoft Excel and Word
