    Job Description

    Reporting to the Human Resource (HR) Manager, the Human Resource Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing Human Resource administrative support to the plant employees and leadership team, as well as promoting positive employee relations through the support of plant and team member administrative needs. The Human Resource Administrative Assistant will engage in coordinating the staffing and onboarding processes, supporting compliance with corporate and government requirements, leading the training administration processes and supporting general administrative needs of the site.  This Human Resource Administrative Assistant will be exposed to confidential information and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality is required.

     

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Activities and duties may vary depending upon site specific needs. Essential functions may include, but are not limited to: 

    • Providing administrative support for non-exempt staffing activities including but not limited to scheduling on-site interviews, creating interview packets, contacting candidates, and organizing the site job bid and external recruitment process.
    • Processing new hire transactional activities including but not limited to processing payroll documentation, and ensuring new hire IT access is requested and completed.
    • Providing administrative support for the training process including maintenance of the training database and employee training files.
    • Maintaining office files and records, including confidential information and required compliance postings, in accordance with internal procedures.
    • Processing employee terminations. 
    • Maintaining organization charts, phone lists, email groups, employee picture boards, in/out binders, mail distribution and communication monitors/bulletin boards.
    • Managing uniform program, office and other supplies, business cards, etc. 
    • Responding to routine questions on HR policies and procedures.
    • Coordinating employee events/celebrations.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma required. Associate degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
    • 3-5 years related manufacturing experience preferable in an administrative role with HR focus.

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

    • High level of work capacity and ability to work at a fast pace. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and clients simultaneously.
    • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
    • Basic knowledge of employment laws and HR procedures/practices.
    • Strong organization and time management skills.
    • Ability and passion to build relationships and work with employees at all levels of the organization.
    • Strength in listening to clients, understanding business concerns and taking action to solve problems.
