    Job Description

    The extrusion line operator performs all the tasks associated with operating the bulk roll films extruder following the standard operating procedures. You will work a 12-hour shift from 6:45 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on a 3-1-3 schedule (night shift).

    This role is being posted for the Engineered Films Plants, which means candidates must be open to working in either the Concord Building 18 or Painesville Building 3E facility, depending on business needs.  Although the role is posted as a night shift from 6:45 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. as the permanent shift, new hires must be available to train on day shift from 6:45 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. for at least the first 90 days

    Activities and duties may vary dependent upon site-specific needs. Essential functions may include, but are not limited to:

    • Responsible for meeting all production goals such as safety, quality, scrap and productivity for assigned equipment / area.

    • Coordinating all production activity through other team members for assigned equipment / area.

    • Overseeing, operating and maintaining all processing and material handling equipment within the film extrusion process.

    • Following and guiding others through process procedures and direction from the team leader.

    • Monitoring meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production specifications.

    • Ensuring safe and effective set up of the extrusion line, loading of raw materials, completion of routine tests, monitoring of quality and accurate completion of all SOCs, bed sheets and other daily checks.

    • Surfacing any equipment malfunctions or abnormalities to the team leader.

    • Maintaining production records and logs of equipment and product performance.

    • Jobs may be of short, medium or long duration - requiring frequent changes in set up and variations in cycle; adjusts set up and process operations accordingly.

    • Continuously reviewing current processes and seeking improvement methods for product / process quality and reducing waste or rework in the process.

    • Leading all basic troubleshooting process activities on assigned machine / area.

    • Leading all set-up and shut-down procedures for assigned production equipment / area.

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.

    • Possess or acquire within specified timing any licensures necessary to perform job.

    • Adaptive, flexible and able to handle ambiguity.
