Program Mission: Provide a project focused on developing and rounding-out educational experience in a corporate setting, personal/professional development, and over-arching skills of emerging talent to join the Summer Internship 2019 Class (anticipated start date; first week in June, 2019) Program Strategy: 10-week Summer Internship Project; capitalizing on area of study, business needs, and leadership/mentorship; while networking with other Summer Interns, Development Program Cohorts (2-year Post Grad Development Program), and various AXON Associates. Interns will have a project-focus that will contribute to learnings, acclimating to a corporate environment, building professional connections, while advancing Axon holistically. Program Outcome: Leverage the teachings from the classroom/degree area of study to enhance one's professionalism, passion, and strengths--bursting an adoration for AXON to anxiously apply the following Summer as an Intern or Post-Graduation as part of our Early Career Development Rotational Program or Direct Hire. Deep analysis and attention to detail are the critical skills to be developed, along with full use of our computer-aided design tools and an understanding of design failure mode effect analysis and design for manufacturing. * Fixtures & Testing - Systems, Manufacturing, Validation, Quality * Understand how our products are expected to perform and make sure that they do. Gain deep insight into design for test and design for manufacturing. Influence how they are made and make sure they meet specifications before they get into our customer's hands. * Research - Ballistics, Performance, Materials, Optics * Learn how to get deep and how to become an expert in a key area of technology for the company. Understand key trade-offs of potential technology decisions. Help develop fundamental tests to evaluate the performance of different technologies.
