Experience : 0 Description : Job Description BAE Systems is seeking an Intern to assist our team in providing acquisition/production support for the US Navy's AEGIS Combat System (ACS) research and development, shipboard ACS modernization efforts and new construction. As part of our team, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing/production efforts at the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Moorestown facility. In order to be eligible for this 3-month internship, applicants must be enrolled in a 2 or 4-year institution and have completed their Sophomore year. This temporary position is applicable only to seasonal or summer hires. The successful candidate will: Apply basic knowledge of engineering principles in performing routine engineering work requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. The job entails learning applicable Engineering processes, methods, and philosophy and to participate in and assist Engineers and Engineering Technologists with the review of engineering test and evaluation of AEGIS Warfare System (AWS) equipment suites. Additionally, the candidate will: Support a team leader to meet tasking objectives including: - Provide production and engineering support and assistance relative to the fabrication, assembly, rework, and factory testing of components, subassemblies, cabinets, and major equipment of the AWS - Analyze and evaluate schedules for the production floor, fabrication, warehouse, assembly, and test progress - Review production specifications and Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) procedures and reports and provide comments and recommended corrections - Participate in Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs) and witness FATs of major equipment - Support special projects Required Skills and Education Required education: High School Diploma/GED and must have completed Sophomore year and currently be enrolled in an accredited college/university, pursuing Engineering or related as the declared major Security clearance requirement: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required) Also required: Excellent verbal and written communication skills MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) experience About BAE Systems Intelligence & Security BAE Systems is a premier global defense and security company with approximately 90,000 employees delivering a full range of products and services for air, land and naval forces, as well as advanced electronics, security, information technology solutions and customer support and services.
