    POSITION DESCRIPTION

The summer student will be introduced to peptide mapping analysis (LC-MS/MS) of proteins, with emphasis on software processing.  The summer student will participate in evaluation of Biopharma Finders software for peptide mapping data analysis and compare it to other software.  In addition, the summer student will learn how to characterize proteins by intact mass analysis, including preparation of samples, operation of LC-MS systems, process and interpretation of LC-MS data.  Evaluation and validation of software for peptide mapping data analysis will make increase our work more efficient and streamlined.  By participating in protein analysis by mass spectrometry, the summer student will not only learn, but also increase our work flow.
