    Job Description

    This application is for a 6-month student role from January - June 2024. Resume review begins in October 2023.

    Position Description

    This co-op position will entail pharmacostatistial modeling of Parkinson’s disease (PD) related endpoints based on patient-level data. The modelling efforts will be focused on informing clinical trial design for late-stage efficacy trials in PD, specifically accounting for the effects of symptomatic PD medication. Overall analysis approaches will include model development and refinement, covariate analysis, and trials simulations comparing different trial design scenarios. The co-op team member will be given opportunities to share work with broader cross-functional groups and have opportunities for publications. The candidate is expected to be remote with an occasional visit to campus.

    The ideal candidate has:

    • Strong quantitative background
    • Programming experience with R and a nonlinear mixed-effects modeling software such as NONMEM, Monolix, Stan
    • Strong communication skills
    • Collaborative attitude
    • Bias towards initiative and action

    To participate in the Biogen Internship Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

    • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
    • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
    • Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university

    Education

    PhD candidate in statistics, pharmacometrics, mathematics, pharmaceutical sciences with research focus on quantitative modeling, or a related discipline.
