Job Description
The Research Organization at Biogen is seeking a highly motivated scientist to join our highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary cross-Research initiative focused on the discovery of novel therapeutics for diseases with microglial pathology. The Research Fellow/Scientist I role at Biogen is an 18-month position designed to provide a unique opportunity for academically trained scientists to gain exposure to drug development and train in an industry research setting.
The individual is expected to lead, design, and execute an independent research project aimed at development of a humanized chimeric microglial rodent model and leverage it for drug discovery programs across multiple therapeutic areas (AD, PD, MS, and other neurodegenerative diseases). The work will be expected to support new target identification, active drug discovery programs and advance our understanding of human microglia biology. The individual is expected to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment, drawing on deep and current knowledge of literature. The work will involve a wide array of in vitro, in vivo, and analytical techniques using cellular and molecular approaches, and is expected to advance projects towards clinical development.
