    About This Role

    Biogen is seeking an Access and Reimbursement Manager (ARM) to educate HCPs and staff on non-clinical barriers to help support their patients with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and Post-Partum Depression (PPD). The ideal candidate should be collaborative, strategic, and results-driven, with expertise in billing, coding, reimbursement, pharmacy distribution models, and patient access support programs. The role will involve engaging with stakeholders in both in-office and virtual settings.

    What You’ll Do

    You’ll be a critical member of the field-based Neuropsychiatry team responsible for building cross-functional partnerships to enable market access initiatives. You will establish, build, and maintain touch points with critical stakeholders to advance key access and reimbursement objectives and strategies in a compliant manner. You will be focused on educating healthcare providers and their patients by leveraging your expertise in federal and private payer markets, national/regional payer policies, prior authorizations, pharmacy distribution models and patient access support programs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Serve as the primary reimbursement resource within assigned territory by providing both technical and practical support to avert or resolve reimbursement issues and support access across the patient journey.
    • Coordinate local care team to ensure access and reimbursement process is efficient across assigned territory. ARM serves as point person coordinating partnerships with Territory Business Managers, Regional Directors, MA&R, Patient Services, etc.
    • Demonstrate an advanced understanding of public and private payers, how to research to determine specific coverage barriers, and how to communicate effectively to all relevant stakeholders regarding Medicaid (FFS and Managed Care), commercial plans, PBM designs, policy changes, and formulary status.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of pharmacy benefit reimbursement practices, compliance, billing and coding processes, and utilization management/prior authorization process.
    • Work with internal cross-functional partners (MA&R Payer Marketing) to assist in implementing pull-through and push-through programs designed to maximize payer coverage.
    • Support, adopt, and promote a culture of compliance to ensure all activities are fully compliant with Company policies and procedures, applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • BA/BS required; MBA, MHA or RN preferred
    • The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of reimbursement experience; psychiatry, co-promotion and/or launch experience is preferred
    • Extensive experience with patient services model and financial assistance programs experience
    • Exemplary work ethic, cross-functional stakeholder management skills, and an ability to manage multiple and often-evolving strategic priorities
    • Role includes travel within assigned territory, inclusive of overnight travel
    • Beneficial to live near major US airport

    Additional Information

    The base compensation range for this role is $131,000 to $211,000. Base salary is determined by a combination of factors including, but not limited to, job related years of relevant experience, internal equity, and location of the job. Additionally, this role is eligible for participation in Biogen’s LTI grants and other incentive programs.
