    Job Description

    Job Description This is for a 12-week internship position from June – August 2021. The Business Process Management (BPM) Intern will assist with activities related to the development of Process Maps as part of the BPM Capability Program across PO&T in support of Biogen Forward – Continuous Improvement.  This will include working closely with the BPM Leader and Core Team for direction on the design, maintenance and implementation of Process Maps and associated documents.   The intern can expect to learn and apply BPMN standards and methodology as well as use the of Visio Pro and SoftwareAG ARIS/myBPM Process Modeling tool.  The intern will support continuous improvement activities and assist with connecting appropriate metrics to various processes thus this position will provide a general level of visibility to the processes and activities that occur throughout Pharmaceutical Operations and Technology.

    • Support on the development of BPM Solutions
    • Develop business process maps and document simplification strategies along with Business Process Owners (BPO’s)
    • Identify areas of opportunity and gaps.
    • Assist in the development of business cases to support implementation of BPM solutions
    • Support the development, design and enhancement of BPM solutions
    • Assist in the integration of BPM solutions with ongoing projects or processes as appropriate
    • Implement BPM Solutions
    • Support the BPM CoE on the built of the BPM Capability Program within PO&T
    • Support the design, implementation and enhancement of BPM within PO&T
    • Monitor BPM Installation
    • Assist leaders with monitoring and reporting progress on BPM Processes implementations
    • Assist in the development and communicate of BPM metrics

    Qualifications To participate in the Biogen Internship Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

    • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
    • Grade point average of 3.2 or higher preferred
    • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
    • Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university

    Additional Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated abilities with respect to project management
    • Previous experience with Operational Excellence Project - Lean (preferred)
    • Demonstrated learning agility
    • Good oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate with management, peers, and subordinates effectively
    • Good organizational skills; ability to multi-task and coordinate multiple activities in parallel
    • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

    EDUCATION Minimum of two years of college education Bachelor Degree student in Science, Engineering and/or Pharmacy

    LOCATION Research Triangle Park, NC Relocation is not offered for this position.
