    Job Description

    THIS IS FOR A 6-MONTH FULL-TIME CO-OP FROM JULY TO DECEMBER 2020.

    The Supplier Diversity Program Co-op position provides an excellent opportunity for a student to learn more about diverse suppliers identification and development within Global Procurement for a global biotech company. The supplier diversity program for Biogen is at a cusp being developed into a strategic and integrated program within global procurement.  The strategy formulation, to be developed with category leaders driven by strong spend analytics and external benchmarks, will set the foundation for a solid supplier diversity program.  The co-op will have exposure to all procurement categories as well as departments outside of procurement such as finance, HR, and the Diversity & Inclusion Strategic Council.  The co-op will be an integral team member in an effort to improve the supplier diversity program processes.

    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    Detailed description of role including but not limited to:

    • Managing Supplier Diversity Self-Certification process
    • Educating suppliers on self-certification process
    • Updating self-certifications in SharePoint while archiving expired forms
    • Working with Tealbook to analyze current supplier database
    • Submitting classification updates to GEP
    • Participating in meetings with Category Managers
    • Attending Supplier Diversity events if necessary

    Qualifications

    To participate in the Biogen Co-op Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

    • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
    • Grade point average of 3.2 or higher preferred
    • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
    • Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university

    Additional qualifications include:

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Motivated to build/develop a solid supplier diversity program
    • Ability to work independently and self-direct
    • Capable of multi-tasking and highly organized
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office

    EDUCATION Currently undergraduate student

    LOCATION Cambridge, MA

    Relocation is not offered for this position.
