    Job Description

    This application is for a 12-week internship role from June - August 2024. Resume review begins in January 2024.

    The Research Triangle Park Bio Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) team serves the site EHS needs which includes adherence to environmental and safety compliance and risk management. The team works closely with manufacturing, facilities, engineering, laboratories and other groups to help the organization ensure the safety of all employees and ensure environmental regulations are adhered to. To do this, EHS participates in many activities and tasks which includes inspections, investigations, root cause analysis, risk assessments, report generation, training and other key compliance activities.

    This role with help the organization ensure compliance with EHS regulatory requirements and adherence to Biogen EHS Management System:

    • Help the EHS department with communication materials.
    • Support inspections related to programs, (ladder safety, laboratory safety, etc.
    • Develop EHS Spotlight communications.
    • Conduct safety audits and inspections.
    • Complete chemical inventory in laboratories and manufacturing
    • Data analytics of myEHS EHS Management system.
    • Under the direction of site personnel – assist with EHS event investigations.
    • Liaison with the EHS department on special continuous improvement projects
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Be familiar with Microsoft Office suite, such as PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
    • Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills
    • Organized, can work on multiple tasks at a time, self-motivated

    To participate in the Biogen Internship Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

    • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
    • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
    • Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university

    Education

    Interest or majors in Environmental Health Science, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Management or related Life Sciences degree.
