This application is for a 12-week internship role from June - August 2022. Resume review begins in January 2022. 

Work in Biogen’s Product and Technology Development (PTD) organization engaged in laboratory activities supporting the development and characterization of therapeutic products, manufacturing processes and new technologies. 

POSITION DESCRIPTION 

This scientific opportunity is with the Small Molecule Analytical Development group that provides analytical support for process chemistry, formulation development and CMC related activities.  The work will include analytical method development, specifically in small molecule analysis by NMW spectroscopy.   This position will help develop a generic quantitative NMR method to determine the potency for reference materials, the content of residual solvents, and relevant organic impurities in small molecule drug substance development process. 

Qualifications

• You should have experience working in a general chemistry laboratory environment planning, executing, documenting and presenting experimental data.
• Hands-on experience with NMR and good understanding of pulse sequence mechanisms
• Small molecule (either synthetic or natural products) analytical experience is a plus

To participate in the Biogen Internship Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
• At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
• Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university

EDUCATION 

Individuals pursuing a Master’s or Doctoral degree in any of the following:  Organic Chemistry, Natural Product Chemistry, or related field.
