Work within one of several departments in Biogen’s Product and Technology Development (PTD) organization engaged in laboratory activities supporting the development and characterization of therapeutic products, manufacturing processes or new technologies.  

POSITION DESCRIPTION 

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative individual to take the full-time co-op role in the Protein biochemistry team, which is focused on purification development of biological therapeutics. The co-op position provides an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on laboratory experience and exposure to protein purification development process, chromatography, membrane separation and scale-up. This project focuses on the development of high-throughput methods for novel molecules in combination with in-silico tools to decrease process development time and increase process throughput.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience with purification techniques, solution prep, and data analysis are preferred
• Hands on experience with protein purification are preferred
• Experience with liquid handlers or automation devices is a plus
• Candidate should be able to work independently and be a team player

To participate in the Biogen Internship Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
• At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
• Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university

 EDUCATION 

Bachelor’s student or MS/PhD student in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
