    Job Description

THIS IS FOR A 12-WEEK INTERNSHIP POSITION FROM JUNE - AUGUST 2020.

The ideal candidate will lead efforts to map current operations of Biogen’s Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) department and compare it to present capacity, historical demand (last 5 years), and outsourcing cost, to allow DMPK to identify bottlenecks, project future capacity needs, make informed cost/benefit CAPEX/OPEX investment decisions to address bottlenecks and future capacity, identify inflection points to inform outsourcing strategy, and more accurately determine DMPK support requirements on a stage/modality basis for our resource projection platform (Clarity). The model generated by this work (Excel at minimum) should be able to be updated over time to reflect new present state and allow for identification of new bottlenecks and opportunities.

This continuous improvement approach will allow DMPK to work faster and leaner as new solutions are identified and implemented, generating both current and future value to the organization in the form of OPEX cost savings and increased speed of delivery of therapies to patients.  This opportunity will provide the candidate with visibility into pharmaceutical operations and strategic decision-making through execution of traditional business concepts.
