    Job Description

    Under the direction of the Head of Scientific Partnerships, the Global Head of Medical Information (GMI) will oversee the development and coordination, related to the delivery of medical information to internal and external audiences, while working in a matrixed environment to improve the customer experience and to increase the awareness and engagement with GMI internally. The GMI lead also creates and drives a culture of continuous improvement and imbeds innovative, future facing capabilities for long term sustainability of the service.

    The GMI Lead drives the development of people and upskills teams within GMI. They are responsible for both strategic and tactical aspects of medical information and fosters communication/collaboration with the external medical/commercial field forces, Market Access, Safety, Quality Assurance etc. The GMI Lead must have the ability to manage through ambiguity, and be comfortable working in a highly dynamic environment with continuously shifting priorities

    • Manages and prioritizes efforts within the GMI: content delivery, content management, contact centers, global project teams, and the GMI database/technologies.
    • Provides leadership and direction to Biogen’s Global Medical Information strategy across all regions and business units.
    • Strategic development of the performance objectives/goals, KPIs and success measures of the team, vendors, and overarching GMI service model
    • Management of various global, regional, and local stakeholder relationships in support of the current MI model, future facing capabilities, customer insights, and business continuity/optimization.
    • Responsible for annual budgeting and performance tracking process for numerous vendors, technologies and continuous improvement projects
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Advanced clinical and scientific training required equivalent to an advanced HCP practitioner with direct clinical experience and/or an advanced sciences degree with 10+ years of experience in the management of medical information across various therapeutic areas.

    • Demonstrated ability to line manage a global team directly, virtually, and in a matrix environment (10+ years)

    • Understanding of and adherence to regulatory policies governing scientific interactions with HCPs and patients (10+ years)

    • Prior industry experience in a post-marketing setting (10+ years)

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    • Experience with data management (CRM/CMS platforms) and informatics/analytics (5 years+)

    Additional Information

    Based out of the Cambridge, MA office, the Global Lead for Global Medical Information (GMI) is responsible for managing a dedicated MI team supporting the Neuroscience and Biosimilar products. The Global Lead provides strategic direction and has supervisory responsibilities for all activities performed within GMI. The role includes direct management of the Americas Lead, the European & JAPAC Lead, the GMI Operations Lead and the Pipeline Assets Lead.
