    ABOUT THIS ROLE

At Biogen, we are pioneers in neuroscience. We care deeply about making a difference. We work fearlessly. We do not give up when challenged, pursuing innovation in all that we do. Founded by scientists, we are a science-driven company committed to original research that uncovers the underlying biology of complex diseases. We are humbled by the opportunity to change lives.

Reporting to the VP, MS & Neurorepair Research Unit, you will oversee cutting-edge research programs that enhance innovation in the neural repair space, lead a team responsible for defining and validating robust new targets, and serve as Biogen’s champion for the neurorepair strategy across all levels of the organization.

    WHAT YOU’LL DO

    • Build and lead a world-class research team of ~16 scientists, focused on all aspects of neurorepair (remyelination, neuronal and glial protection, as well as axonal survival and regeneration) to bring forward programs of high impact
    • Work collaboratively to create a pipeline of differentiated programs with strong biologic rationale and clinical feasibility, using the multiple modalities available to Biogen and ranging in stage from exploratory to pre-IND
    • Define an optimal combination of internal and external innovation to create a world-leading portfolio in Neural Repair.
    • As a member of the Extended Research Leadership Team, provide guidance on overall strategy and drive scientific and operational integration across R&D.
    • As member of the Discovery Portfolio Alignment Committee, contribute to program decisions at all stages of the preclinical portfolio

    WHO YOU ARE

You are a recognized leader in neurorepair research and an innovative and forward-thinking leader who isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo. You have a vision for changing the game when it comes to discovering and developing neuroprotective drugs and providing better treatment options to patients living with neurological disorders.
