    Global Business Services and Business Optimization The Global Business Services (GBS) and Business Optimization team is a newly formed organization established to transform Biogen’s business processes with a vision of “Lean and Simple” operations to fuel commercial growth and the innovation pipeline.  Further, GBS will provide further value by developing and delivering a suite of business solutions and support services that are valued by internal customers.   GBS will deliver services by leveraging a global delivery model, operational transparency and metrics, leveraging global best practices, and a service-oriented process improvement culture.   All solutions will be supported by strong business cases and ultimately monitored for the effectiveness and efficiency against benchmarks and service level agreements.

    THE POSITION:

    The Manager, Vendor Risk Management Business Coordinator, is a member of the procurement team that supports the global business.   The scope and responsibility of this role is to manage the governance, operations, reporting and metrics for Vendor Risk Management.  The individual will provide overall leadership and serve as the point person and triage for VRM incidents, questions and business support cases.   Responsibilities: •    Be the VRM process owner and leader for day-to-day execution, ensure proper governance through KPIs and continuous improvement •    Manages ongoing prioritization of existing vendors to be assessed and onboarding of new affiliates to VRM process •    Assist the Global Business Process (GPO)/Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Owner to provide overall leadership and governance of the Aravo platform, considering VRM solution requirements and needs •    Be the Aravo Reporting SME for VRM solution •    Participate in Aravo user groups as appropriate to understand and implement critical updates for improved operating performance  •    Work closely with IT leadership on governance of the platform, considering Aravo requirements •    Provide support for questions and issues related to governance of the platform Aravo, and delivering solutions for prioritization of the issues as they arise •    Research and document new features in Aravo, including yearly upgrades •    Provide consulting, analysis and hands-on support for visible or complex projects or ones that involve new features  •    Lead and document platform/module process discussions and decisions in partnership with the Aravo Leadership teams •    Report and analyze cross-functional metrics and trends •    Provide support on consultation on Aravo capabilities •    Participate in UAT testing when necessary •    Facilitate projects/discussions on a regular cadence with functional stakeholders  

    This role may be based in Cambridge, MA or RTP, NC locations

    The ideal candidate for the Manager, Vendor Risk Management Business Coordinator will have the following experiences: •    Minimum 5yrs relevant experience, including 2+ yrs experience in project management position highly desirable. •    Experience with business application support, business reporting. •    Demonstrated experience in global business services with environment with proven track record of supporting operational delivery with high degree of customer-focus •    Ability to prioritize complex, competing initiatives – excellence in multi-tasking, problem solving and critical thinking. •    Exceptional analytic abilities, including ability to tell an impactful story leveraging data, metrics, technology. •    Strong interpersonal skills:  Ability to work collaboratively with others from any functional area or background, to influence thinking, and gain acceptance of others.  Ability to work with and through all levels in an organization. •    Self-motivated and capable of operating independently with limited oversight.  Strong sense of personal accountability for work tasks.  •    Strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to operate in the details and to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.   •    Experience with business platforms and Vendor Risk Management (VRM) database tools, including:  Oracle, Microsoft tools, Aravo (or similar).  •    Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment •    Aptitude for both strategic thinking and detail-oriented operational management

    EDUCATION:  BS/BA or University degree or equivalent experience required, preferably in a quantitative or STEM-related field, such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Technology.  MBA preferred.
